INFORMATION: Polly found her way to us through an auction in April out of Missouri. This beauty has finally gotten the chance to retire in style. HEALTH: Fair. Polly does have vision problems but she is not going to let that slow her down. She cannot see out of her right eye, and the left is hazy but she follows her foster mom all over and is happy, happy, happy to finally be free from the cage!. We are treating them with antibiotic ointment right now and there is already some improvement in the left eye. UPDATE: Polly has lost her right eye due to years of neglect to the prior injury. She is still a beauty though and loves to be loved! She is recovering from her surgery. BACKGROUND: Polly (2) has been a breeder mom all her life. This is no life for a senior! She was purchased at an auction mid-April and personally requested to come to Pegs home for foster (she heard lots of good things happen to the foster pups here!) ADDITIONAL NOTES: Polly (2) is in foster care and already has chosen her favorite dog bed, follows her foster mom all over and has a chin-grin a mile wide! Are you ready for me to join your family? These folks here want me to have a special loving home so you will need to provide personal and vet references as well as have a home visit before I can come and live with you. My adoption donation is $150.00, and personally I think I'm worth every penny. Due to assessment evaluation, they would like me to stay in foster care for a minimum of 2 weeks to help me get ready for my new family. I will be allowed to travel out of state so don't be afraid to ask about me (please note: we must follow the airline restrictions on temps so please be aware of that, any costs associated with travel will be your responsibility). I would love to have a special person to love me. See you soon..... NOTE: All our adoption donations go towards our ever mounting vet bills. Thank you for your support. We are also, always, looking for more foster homes. The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we can help THANK YOU! PLEASE Note! ADOPTION DONATIONS: When you see the adoption donation amounts, we'd like you to know that 90% of the time the donation amount doesn't even come close to covering our kid's doctor bills. This is definitely not a money-making venture. We're usually so far in the hole but the important thing is to get these kids the medical care they need and help them find the perfect family. That's our top priority. POTTY TRAINING: Please note that we NEVER say our kids are 100% potty-trained. How naive would we be to say something like that? If you're willing to be trained by your new family member, please fill out an application. If you're looking for a totally potty-trained kid, you may as well stop at the toy store on your way home from work and buy a stuffed toy because those are the only reliable ones to NOT potty in your home. There is a period of adjustment, not just for the new family member but for everyone in the house. You must be patient, understanding, and willing to work with your new family member. It can take anywhere from several days to several months. You must be 100% committed to this, it's a lifetime commitment.
